Checkered Plate Modelling

Checkered plate modelling in Tekla Structures is prone to problem if not proper attention is paid in modelling. Tekla structure doesnt have surface finish modelling hence it wouldn't diffrentiate between plates with different side hatching. The problem would occur when there are plates in model which can't be superimposed by rotation in plan but by mirroring about anyline in plan. See the example picture. The two parts would be taken as same by Tekla, and would get same part numbering. There would be only one drawing generated for the these members. Shop would cut the plates both facing up and that wouldnt fit in assembly. The problem would occur when using non rectangular plates in model which would come near column cuts.
Work Around
Work around is to put a small notch (but greater than model tollerence) in plate at top left corner. This would generate seperate numbering and drawing for plates.
